Chihuahua

This is my first time on the message board and I am excited to see the responses to my question! My boyfriend and I already own a Blue Heeler (Australian Cattle Dog) and she is nearing 9 months old. We recently decided that we’d like to purchase a smaller dog. We live in different cities (apartments, not homes) and our Cattle dog lives with him. We want something that can live with me and be slightly less hyper and more of a snuggler. I have heard great things about Chi’s and I am so excited about getting one!

However, my good girlfriend is having a litter in a few months and I went to see the mother of her future pups and the mother bit me. I wait tables (law student) and might have been carrying the scent of a ton of people… I hate making excuses for the mother though. My boyfriend thinks that it bit me because she is pregnant and protective. I can’t have a dog that bites!

Tell me this was a weird thing for the mother to do. I want my search for the perfect pup to be over!:-)

3 weeks old, puppy chihuahua, daughter of foxxie! born 3 august 2007. Warning: when you get your little puppy to the vet to get his first vaccine, wait about 20 minutes, don’t leave! This puppy was allergic to the vaccine, cause severe swelling. This video was made 1 month before this “unfunny” adventure, now she is ok!

The kinds that have not been recalled….and that are healthy for the dog?

We have a baby chihuahua, just over 2 months old. Does anyone have any tips to make housebreaking easier?

I am going to be a new owner of a chihuahua puppy. I would like to know some supplies I need to buy to make my new chihuahua feel right at home. She is not pottie trained so I know I will need wee wee pads.

**The KC in the UK do have 2 separate categories…long hair and smooth hair, but as they are both chihuahua I was unsure. So thank you to the people who gave constructive answers not bitchy answers x

I just bought a Chihuahua pup, she is 16 weeks old. but she won’t be still so I can pick her up, how do I train her to let me pick her up?

I’ve heard of this being done but no one has exactly said how.

What is a quality dog food?? I currently feed my chihuahua’s Royal Canin…but I’m leaning towards more a holstic brand…Any recommendations? I like Canine Caviar…any thoughts?

Any tips on how to get him to use a litterbox? I live in an apartment, so hes an indoor dog.
HELLO, im not a lazy owner! I love my dog and would never do anything to mistreat him. I work all day, and got o school at nights. Taking him for a walk is hard to to all day. I walk him twice a day. But of course, dogs poop more than that.
