It was suggested by our vet several years ago, when I had a dog at the beginning stages of kidney failure. It doesn't have all those fillers and is easier for them to digest. It's a high quality food, with a price tag to match, but worth it in my opinion. You can't get it at the typical "Petsmart" kind of stores either. We have a local pet supply place that we found that is the only one around carrying this brand. We feed Innova. He's a 10 year old dog, and since I've started feeding him NB, he has gained more energy, lost 11 pounds (good thing, by the way, he's big for a Husky) and the shedding has been not as bad. It's an all natural, holistic diet. He's very picky and he just digs right in to this stuff and can't wait til feeding time! I feed my dog Natural Balance.
