Any tips for house training a chihuahua?

We have a baby chihuahua, just over 2 months old. Does anyone have any tips to make housebreaking easier?

  • Dog Training Tips:

Use positive reinforcement. You never want to scold your dog for going in the house. It’ll just confuse the dog. Instead, take the dog out every two hours at first. After it goes potty, praise the dog and give it a treat.

Start associating going to the bathroom outside as a good thing.

Here’s a step by step article on how to housebreak your dog:

If you are using puppy pads move them closer to the door and eventually put them outside on the porch then in the yard, just a thought. Crate training if another great way and increase your outings. Consistency is key!

Yes. Use Puppy Pads.. I have two Chi’s. and that is what I do.
Your will have success with it.
Put a little poo on the pad, put some urine on it too, take it to the pad very often… it will eventually get it. Will make you a Great pet, as
they are Great little dogs, with huge hearts, persona. :)
    God bless.
