how did I do? (constructive criticisms only please)?
as some of you know I got a puppy for my birth day well he’s a Chihuahua and gets very cold but I didn’t want to spend that kind of money to buy dog clothes (so stinking expensive) so I went to the thrift store and bought a bunch of baby clothes and turned the legs, arms, and torso of the baby clothes into doggy shirts, p’s, hoodie’s, and a pup pouch (that was way to small so iv got to make another one) the pup pouch is so that I can zip him (its actually a bag with a hood on it to keep him warm but allowing me to carry him around outside without having to wrap him up in my coat and getting covered in little black dog hairs.) any ways these are the first things iv sewn in a very very very long time! so please be kind and let me know what can I do differently? and how can I do that? thanks!!!

HELP! Should I buy a puppy from this breeder?
My dog, and best friend, passed away a week ago and I am planning on adding a new companion to my household. It has been pretty quiet and the silence is maddening; I need someone to love.
I have been researching breeds and have decided to get a Pomeranian. I am looking specifically for a male and AKC registered (I do not want a puppy mill pup!). I live in a small town and we rarely ever have pure breed Pomeranian puppies being sold, so I have looked to the bigger cities and I am dumbfounded.
I am trying to find a reputable breeder, but honestly I am quite nervous acquiring online. Its confusing and scary! The last thing I want is for someone to run off with my money. This is why I am looking for someone who is paypal verified.
This breeder is paypal verified, the puppies are AKC registered, they come with a 6 month hereditary health guarantee, and her contract stipulates that she does not cover parvo, coccidia, or giardia – actually most breeders do not cover this at all, even reputable ones!
Here is the link:
debspompoms.com – I am planning on reserving a male pom from her
Here is another link for another breed (long hair Chihuahua):
longcoat-chihuahuas.com – I am still thinking about this one
Which one do you prefer? Which one is more reputable in your eyes.
Which breed of puppy should I buy? (5 Breeds Listed)?
Today I went to a pet store and played with a Chug…half Chihuahua / half Pug. It looked mostly like a chihuahua and had the BEST temperament of a puppy I had ever seen. He just wanted to cuddle and kiss! I have adopted many dogs, and I am looking forward to actually having a small puppy. My choices are down to the following breeds, and I was wondering which is going to be: the best cuddle dog who loves kisses, doesn’t bite much, has good temperament, is a great lap dog, and loves to be carried around, since all my other dogs are big…
*Shiba Inu
*Chug
*Chihuahua
*Italian Greyhound
*Pocket Pomeranian (smaller size pom, and yes there is such a thing.)
I don’t want it to be prone to biting, I want it to be my baby, and I don’t care if it’s needy! Thanks for your input! Which one should I go with?
P.S – I have adopted 3 dogs that I love very much, and I will try to research my place of purchase as much as possible, but I am aware that all dogs need a home because once they are born, regardless of method, they need a home, so please just help me out with my question, I have already adopted three dogs and 3 cats (large home and yard), and I want to spoil myself with a brand new pup!

Which Breeder would YOU Buy a Puppy From?
Purely hypothetical, of course. There is no "neither" option. You ARE buying a puppy… and these are your 2 choices.
Breeder A:
This breeder owns only 1 b*tch. She is a sporting breed, say a Gordon Setter. She was bought by them from a well-known show kennel, both of her parents champion titled, OFAd, all relevant health tests done. Her sire is a best in show, best in specialty winning dog. This b*tch was shown to her championship, achieved a CDX obedience title, and a Junior Hunter title for field work. She lives as a beloved house pet, sleeps at the foot of her owner’s bed.
She has been bred to a champion, best in show winning male, who has also passed all his health certifications. He is, however, a kennel dog, and has never done obedience or field work.
The puppies are all completely vetted, and in addition have been temperament tested by 2 different people knowledgeable to the breed. They had neurological stimulation done at 7 days, the optimum age for this.
In order to buy one of these puppies, you must fill out a lengthy questionnaire, letting the breeder know what your living situation is, what you are looking for in a dog and what you plan to do with this dog. They offer a lifetime health guarantee on their puppies, and will take back the dog at any time in it’s life if you are unable to keep it. All pet quality pups are sold on a spay/neuter contract, The breeder will refund 0 on the purchase price when you have the dog OFAd at maturity.
These puppies stay with their mother until at least 9 weeks of age. They have a beautiful big puppy pen to play in with miniature puppy agility equipment to play on. They are well socialized, brave, and afraid of nothing.
This breeder works hard with local and national breed rescue and volunteers at their local shelter.
Breeder B:
This breeder created ‘designer dogs’. They have several questionably bred b*tches they purchased from pet stores, Pomeranians. One has patella luxation that was surgically repaired when she was younger, but she is bred anyway. Another has severe skin allergies, and again, she is bred anyway, to a Chihuahua.
This breeder admits that they don’t care about shelter dogs, saying that ‘they aren’t my problem’. They breed their designer dogs because that is where the most profit is. These puppies are sold at 5-6 weeks of age, with their only vaccinations being what the breeder gives herself.
This breeder is also planning to branch out to breed goldendoodles, with a Golden Retriever b*tch she bought… yes, from a pet shop.
These puppies are sold with no health guarantees or a contract of any kind. If you cannot keep the dog a year from now, this breeder doesn’t care what you do with it; if the dog ends up in a shelter, ‘it’s not her problem’ any more. If you breed your POMCHI to a morkiepoo, this breeder doesn’t care.
If your puppy ends up with that luxated patella or severe allergy…. well, that’s your problem now.
So… which breeder would you choose? You can substitute your favorite breed in either scenario, but the conditions remain the same.
By the way… Breeder A is the breeder of my boy Nick. Breeder B? "Hypothetical". ![]()
Mastiff Mommy- They are WONDERFUL people. I feel blessed that I was able to get a puppy from them. He is the love of my life.
Racecars… there is nothing wrong with adopting from a shelter. That’s wonderful. This is just a hypothetical situation, I am curious to see how everyone feels. I would NEVER say anyone is stupid for adopting a shelter dog.
Launi… have i told you lately that I ♥ you?
Tina… go back and re-read breeder A… the b*tch IS a champion, and has both obedience and field titles.
Kitten behavior/agression correction question?
I have an 8 wk old male kitten that has lived with us for a month. This past week, someone asked me to take in an adorable 5 month old abused male chihuahua, and I did. My problem is that my kitten is VERY agressive. He can be sweet, but spends most of his time with his teeth and/or claws sunk into something… and he clearly prefers living objects to the millions of cat toys I have bought to keep him occupied. He stalks the poor pup and then wraps him self completely around (and he is larger than the pup) and bites the bejesus out of the poor puppy. Does anyone have any ideas on how to correct this behavior in the kitten? I want to keep them both indoors, but if I can’t correct this problem I will have to make the kitten an outdoors cat. The kitten is currently intact, but is scheduled to be neutered on August 15th. My vet wouldn’t do it any sooner. Any ideas or methods to break the kitten from this agressive behavior would be greatly appreciated! I’m at my wits end!
I used the water bottle method for the past month for other problems like getting on the kitchen table… but it’s not working with the pup agression. It’s like he can’t help himself… the instincts kick in and he’s like "It’s worth it….", lol. I feel so bad for the pup!
I’m sorry, I should correct, the kitten is now 12 weeks old…. Was 8 wks when I got him… Sorry!
JUE7RC – Sorry about the age mixup, he is now 3 months old, lol. He was approximately 2 months when I got him, and he has been this way since I got him. I do believe that he was separated from his mother too early though. I’ve had lots of cats throughout my lifetime, but never one this aggressive, so I’m out of my league! I will set the water bottle up and I just happen to have a can that I can use and I will try that. Thanks so much for all your help!

Can you get your dog dewormed even if it may not have worms?
My chihuahua is 5 months old and the breeder I got her from didn’t have her or any of the other pups dewormed. Please don’t lecture me on buying my puppy from a bad breeder. I now know she is a terrible breeder. But I really love my dog.
Anyways, she is scooting her butt across the floor. I took her to the vet and he gave me a container to bring him her poop in. Well my mom lost the container… I was wondering if the vet can deworm her ? Even though she MAY not have worms? Would it hurt?
Thank you.
