I’ll admit I’ve been terribly lenient with my chihuahua in potty training. I’ve had her since 8 weeks and gave her far too much freedom to fast. She is my first puppy and I’ve made tons of mistakes despite all my research, so please don’t get on a high horse about this, I just need help and I know I’ve done wrong.

That being said, my chihuahua is around 14-15 weeks now. She hides to go to the bathroom and we have to close every door in the house or she goes in the remote places and does her thing. Most advice about potty training is for when you first get a puppy, but I need advice about potty training a puppy you’ve had awhile and has developed bad habits. Do I need to start a new regimen and make new rules starting tomorrow? If so, what are they and where do I go from here? Please be as detailed as possible. I am home most of this week and next so I will have tons of time to devote to this problem, which is very fortunate. Thank you beforehand for taking the time to help me.
