She just bought a puppy! and im going to be 34 weeks tomorrow (Wendsay), its a little Chihuahua puppy, ive always wanted one, but Im pregnant, I could go in to labor anytime these next few weeks (im 16…) We’ve almost have the nursery done, but still! During these next few weeks, whose gonna care for this pup!? I have parenting classes, and yoga set till the last week before my due date! Its cute, but im pretty sure at this point and time we dont need one!
well uhm to the 2nd answer, i have to much crap going on in my life, and so does my mom, 2 jobs, and in the middle of school for nursing. I just feel as if i have to watch for it even though she bought it, i’ll be taking care of my baby everyday, (i take online school) i shouldnt have to watch after a puppy, ecspecially a PUPPY!
I just explained to her everything like how its not the time, but the pup named "Dolce" which my older sister picked out, is going to be moving in with my sister, till after all this meyham!

and for those who stalk me, yes, my sister did finally move on out! & yes! she finally talks to me )))

I have a chihuahua puppy. I just recently found out he’s 9 weeks and 4 days today, so when I said 10 weeks I was a little off. Anyways, he’s a serious biter, as I know all puppies are. Well, everytime he bites me, I try the "AAH-AAT!" growl thing. I put him down and walk away. I flick his nose. I mean, all my training research has worked on every other dog I’ve trained. This puppy just goes against everything I’ve learned. It makes my head hurt. I had a chihuahua before, but he got small dog syndrome and was a demon dog to anyone he didn’t know. I don’t want this puppy to turn out like that. I know that’s the usual for chihuahuas, I was just wondering if there’s anything I could do.

PS: I’m not a professional dog trainer, but I am learning to be one.

I have been wanting a little chihuahua puppy for a long time and finally found the sweetest little one. There is one thing holding me back … While I’ve thought about all the responsibility, hard work, time, and money involved in puppy care … I can’t shake the fear of fleas. I do NOT want to use toxic chemicals on my pet or in the house with my child. I will not do it.

So, is there a GOOD way to keep an indoor (will not go out at all and am litter training) chihuahua free of fleas without using toxic prevention? We do live in an apartment in the South so I know there are fleas around here.

Hi all,
I just got a long haired chihuahua puppy 5 days ago (hes 13 weeks old)and when I was holding him last night i found a TINY thing on me that i didnt know what it was. I tried smushing it with my fingers but it didnt die and it fell onto my puppy. I was so worried and spent the next 2 hours searching from head to toe for the bug. I saw it once but it was crawing so fast I couldnt catch it. Keep in mind my pups hair is so fluffy its hard to see anything. I also noticed there were some even smaller black dots in one area. They wernt moving, and my boyfriend told me it was probably dirt. after doing research I though the bug was a tick since it didnt die. It was too late in the night to go buy meds, but my boyfriend bought some frontline spray and used it today.

After doing more research today, I dont think it was a tick, rather it was a flea and the black dots were its waste. Is it possible to only have one flea on your pet?

When I look into my dogs ear, they look very clean, except the past coupel days i saw some tiny black dots that look like dirt inside the ears. Im worried that this could also be from the fleas or ear mites, however, his ears arnt red or crusty, etc. Could it just be dirt from being outside?

One more thing, he does seem to scratch primarily around his ears (normally behind his ears) but I cannot tell if its any more frequent than a normal dog scratching. I have not noticed him shaking his head though. He doesnt scartch them every second, but goes through little phases where he will scratch them often. I plan on going to the pet store so I clean his ears today, although i am very nervous since this will be my first time and I dont want to hurt him. Anyone have and reccomendations on what cleaner to use?

I appologize for this long question, but I hope someone can help me. ANY info or advice is appreciated.
the little black dots inside his ears are not clustered together. They are randomly spaced and there are maybe 5 or so black dots in the ear

We got a 6 week old chihuahua puppy tonight..the breeder said the pups mom wouldn’t feed any of them and they couldn’t afford to buy puppy food for all of them, so they either needed to be sold, or killed. We’re softies and didn’t want the puppies to all die..So we bought one.
Problem is I’ve looked up pictures and he definitely looks more like 3 or 4 weeks old than anything! He’s so small, and can not walk..he pulls himself with his front 2 legs. SO helpless. I’m going to take him to the vet ASAP in the morning, but are there any ideas for what I can do overnight? Or if they wont get us in at the vet tomorrow? He’s so precious and I need all the advice I can get!
He just perked up a bit.
Thanks to all for the advice..like I said, he will be going to a vet, or an animal hospital as soon as one can get him in. He will be very well cared for, and if it comes down to it, we will leave him at the hospital until he’s ready to come home. Letting him die at his breeders home was absolutely not an option.

I have adopted a chihuahua puppy from an abused home.
She is between 8-10 months old. only 3.2 lbs!
She is roughly a 1lb under weight in my opinion(she is skin and bones)
She has been with us a week tomorrow and already is apart of the family! She isn’t as nervous as the first couple of days.
She has really calmed down and is eating now, but she doesn’t digest food??
I already knew from the woman who bought her from the abusive family that her stomach was sensitive she has special dog food, but doesn’t like it and only will eat cottage cheese.
She is starting to take table scraps, before she was to scared. I am not feeding her junk either, like ground beef and stuff is what I have been giving her things down that line.
I fed her pineapple the other night and a good 18 hours later she puked it up and it wasn’t digested at all!
Why isn’t she digesting. like I said she has really started to come around now, she snuggles kisses and is even playing!! Which I am thrilled to see. I have been working hard to help properly adjust her to her new and permanent home. I think it is working too.

What can I do to help her gain weight? She is literally skin and bones.
Also why isn’t she digesting things other than beef and cottage cheese? I have the calorie paste for hypoglycemia , because my other chi has it. Mollie really won’t eat that though. Pepper has learned to like it because when she gets sick we have to force feed it to her.

I just want to help rehabilitate this pup to the fullest, she is so sweet. Makes me sick that some one harmed her. She doesn’t bite at all either, just doesn’t have any self confidence. I can already see her picking it up from our 2 other cheeky dogs, a chihuahua and a pug.
Okay…she has been to a vet…she has prescription dog food.

She is digesting the cottage cheese and beef, I should have noted that sorry.

It just disturbes me that she can’t digest any thing besides that.

AGAIN SHE HAS ALREADY BEEN TO 2 DIFFERENT VETS, THEY BOTH DID THE SAME EXACT THING AND GAVE HER A PRESCRIPTION DOG FOOD.

there has to be something more I can do though, the more comfortable she gets the more I notice I can get her to eat.

The vet is who suggested this…now I don’t know what to feed her every one is saying different things. The pineapple was my idea, I didn’t know it was soul on her little tummy though. My other dogs love it.

I would really appreciate if someone out there knows of a good method of training my Chihuahua puppy to do his necessities on paper. He is about 3 months old, and would like to keep him indoors.

My boyfriend of 4 years and I live with his Mother at her house, I like her but sometimes she can be a bit overbearing, she had gotten a chihuahua puppy about 8 months ago and everytime I would try to help her with it like take it for a walk or give her a bath or even feed her she would yell at me and say this is not your dog! but when the chihuahua pup needed to be taken out to go to the bathroom she was fine with me doing it, now me and my bf finaly got a pup of our own, he explained to his Mother that noone else in the household will be feeding the puppy or doing anything else with it except playing and we would take care of the rest of the stuff he needs, a couple days before we got him we went to PETCO to go buy food and what-not we picked Nutro Maxx because I wanted to start the pup on healthy dry food to avoid future problems when he gets older, well the day after he came home she went and bought him Pedigree wet and dry because she said that he didn’t like the nutro, even though I had seen him clear his bowl of Nutro before, now she’s trying to tell us that he can’t be around our friends puppy because it is going to make him aggressive, even though I have worked at a social doggie daycare for over a year and a half and have to take care of 15-20 dogs in one room by myself, I’m not sure how to approach her about this since she screamed at me for telling her that the pup was going to stay on a routine for potty and feeding I don’t know what to do please someone help me?!?!?!!
