as some of you know I got a puppy for my birth day well he’s a Chihuahua and gets very cold but I didn’t want to spend that kind of money to buy dog clothes (so stinking expensive) so I went to the thrift store and bought a bunch of baby clothes and turned the legs, arms, and torso of the baby clothes into doggy shirts, p’s, hoodie’s, and a pup pouch (that was way to small so iv got to make another one) the pup pouch is so that I can zip him (its actually a bag with a hood on it to keep him warm but allowing me to carry him around outside without having to wrap him up in my coat and getting covered in little black dog hairs.) any ways these are the first things iv sewn in a very very very long time! so please be kind and let me know what can I do differently? and how can I do that? thanks!!!

My dog, and best friend, passed away a week ago and I am planning on adding a new companion to my household. It has been pretty quiet and the silence is maddening; I need someone to love.

I have been researching breeds and have decided to get a Pomeranian. I am looking specifically for a male and AKC registered (I do not want a puppy mill pup!). I live in a small town and we rarely ever have pure breed Pomeranian puppies being sold, so I have looked to the bigger cities and I am dumbfounded.

I am trying to find a reputable breeder, but honestly I am quite nervous acquiring online. Its confusing and scary! The last thing I want is for someone to run off with my money. This is why I am looking for someone who is paypal verified.

This breeder is paypal verified, the puppies are AKC registered, they come with a 6 month hereditary health guarantee, and her contract stipulates that she does not cover parvo, coccidia, or giardia – actually most breeders do not cover this at all, even reputable ones!

Sorry i sound so harsh im just frustrated.Yesterday I asked what to do about my friends puppy(chihuahua mix)that I am puppysitting.She went on a job interview out of town and asked me if i could watch her pup because i have a maltese/yorkie pup and they could play together while she was gone.I asked her i the puppy had any fleas because mines is 5months and has never had a flea.She told me no.Turned out the pup was filled with fleas.So i gave her a bath with flea shampoo like recommended and she still has them.She also snapped at me and drew blood while i was trying to catch her to give her a bath.She has been snaping at me and my dog and when my husband walked by her this morning she wnt all crazy and started growling.She then goes back to playing like nothing is wrong.I have bought some frontline advantage but cant put it on her cause she keeps showing teeth and growling nad i am not going to let her bite me again.My puppt is now scratching and she has never scratched like this before.I am about to vacuum the center rug in the living room and mop my floors with boiling hot water and pinesol to get the fleas out.I dont want the puppy to stay in the house though.I cant afford to keep bombing and buying more products to keep trying to rid these fleas.She wont let me touch her to get the existing ones of her.She is in a huge crate that we use for my aunts rotti when she comes to visit.She is running around in threre and has food and water.If i put her in the front no one can snatch her up i just cant take the fleas.Even im itching.She growls and barks and snaps at the cage when we walk by.What should i do.My husband is washing my pup as we speak.As for compensation frommy friend she isnt working and we live on the beach and the rent is high and she can no longer afford it so i know she doesnt have money to pay me back.I need help i did her a favor and with it i got fleas
BTW i have called her and left messages and it keeps going to voicemail.She had an all day orientation so im guessing that why her phone is of
Oh and yes she is coming back.All her stuff is at her place she left light it looked like enough for aday trip.I called some boarding kennels and they will not take the pup with fleas.Dont get me wong its not like they are crawling in her ears and you see them jumping but when you check her they are crawling all around and she is a vicious one

hey guys how is it going?ok listen up i wanna persuade my mom to get me a dog i passed my grade i kept my room clean i always behave i have manners and she said if i can keep my room clean she’ll think about it but then when i asked her again she said she is not ready i know i know i should wait but i really want a dog i know the experiences because i have dogs in Morris ville,Pennsylvania but i just want a dog right now any suggestions oh and any rude comments will be deleted. thank you oh and i wanna adopt it from the shelter and i saved my money and i will walk it 3 times a day and feed it once and i wanna get a jack russell terrier in the combination of a chihuahua any ideas

I have a 5 month old 5.5lb chihuahua who is the light of my life. I bought my brother a chihuahua a while back. He is 6 months and 3.5 lbs. I intended to breed them once, maybe twice at the most! NOT FOR MONEY. I want a baby, my brother wants a baby and one more person in my family wants one. I used to breed pit bulls at home for friends and so in that sense I have some experience with the pups. I am also a nurse. I know many people do not agree with breeding but like I said I am not trying to make money off of this I just really want to raise and take care of my baby’s babies until they are old enough to move on to their new forever homes. I want advice from only skilled breeders, not just anyone needs to put their 2 sense in! I would not want to risk my babies life I love her to death so can you please let me know what you think of my situation. I am teetering back and fourth.
***ok guys first of all I do not plan on doing it if I do until both dogs are over 2 years of age, I am not asking to hear idiodic responses, I want to hear about previous experiences and I am not even thinking about breeding them for the $. READ dummies! (not everyone!!!) I want one for me and the others for close trusted family members and FYI I have checked shelters in my area numerously. Do not talk down to me because I am most likely more educated than most of you idiots. Thank you to those who are sharing useful stories and advice

is there specific websites or where could you find pups where the breeder is well qualified to buy from? not someone just to make some money…………

Since the age of about 9 weeks I have been feeding my Chihuahua Royal Canin, and have been told by many people that this is one of the best foods there are, is this true? I know that the grocery store brands are bad, but what would be a good brand. Also, money is a bit tight, so I cannot pay for a bag of food that costs around .00. It is not that I cannot afford Royal Canin, I was wondering if there is a better brand. Someone told me Blue Buffalo was better than Royal Canin. It would have to be something that has a chicken flavor, because that is my dog’s favorite flavor. Thanks to Everyone!!! =D

ok so i have my sight set on getting a golden English cocker spaniel im thinking about adopting one there is a rescue group like 30 minutes away from my house but on the other hand maybe buying a puppy
if i decide to buy that pup can i ask the breeder not to dock his/hers tail?
maybe i am the only one person that feel this way but i feel like thats just cruel and unneeded

and another thing what is so bad about back yard breeders? why so many people are on them?? and why getting a pup from them is a bad thing??
im just curious cause my cousin recently bought a puppy its a chihuahua mini pin mix from a " private "breeder in Minnesota from 350$ which i think is completely ridiculous he said that he has papers for the puppy and i laughed in his face and said that he can wipe
his you know what with those papers and he got all defensive ,mad and angry i told him that he got that mutt either from a puppy mill or a BYB people say that they do it for the money but the reputable breeders ear money from it too and im guessing a lot of it
there is an older lady in my neighborhood that has like 6 dandie dinmont terriers and i haven’t seen that breed in person only on TV and they look really healthy and i can tell that she loves those dogs and i have seen like 4 small pups running around in the front yard but im not sure if she sells them or not

I have a 2, almost 3 year old female chihuahua. We’ve had her since she was about 12 weeks old. We weren’t such great puppy parents and didn’t socialize her like we were suppose to. How do we correct this? She barks and growls at EVERY person she meets thinking she is protecting us and she is also scared of them. So, she does fearful bark/growl. She has been known to bite at people before and I’m afraid she will actually bite someone some day. I want to be able to take her to the dog park and to petsmart and her be okay. We’ll try anything! I don’t have money for expensive training so preferably things we can just do ourselves would be a great help. Thanks!
She has a leash…but she is sooo embarrassing when walking through petsmart because if there is some one in the same aisle as us she will growl and bark, if they get too close she hides behind us and keeps doing that or tries to bite them.

Myself & boyfriend are looking to buy a chihuahua in the near future. I had 2 pups of this breed as a child (Smooth & Long Coat). Though this is not my usual breed (Siberian Huskies) Im now looking for a less demanding dog lol.

Myself & partner have no other pets or children we also have a large back garden to accommodate the dog.

Im undecided on which sex to have at the moment as I know each sex has advantages/disadvantages, though I am swaying more to a bitch. The puppy will be purely as a PET I have no intention of showing, breeding etc. I just want something to spoil rotten!!

I have been doing some Research on the breed & have found that this breed come in both apple shaped head & deer heads, I prefer the apple shaped. Although Im undecided on long coat or smooth coat? can anyone tell me which one sheds the less? I have read that long coat does, though my mom tells me the smooth coat is more likely to shed.

I live in the West Midlands area, I have considered rescue though I have not successfully found a rescue centre, can anyone help me out?

Also can some one advise me of the going rate of a chihuahua & what to be aware of when buying from a breeder, ie, its female so costs more, its a tea cup so costs more etc?? I know in the Husky world many breeders try these type of things to earn more money. As I am fairly new to this breed I need some tips
